The Lakehouse at Toyako is situated on the northern side of Lake Toya in western Hokkaido, Japan. Lake Toya (Toyako in Japanese 洞爺湖) is located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, within the Toya Caldera and Usu Volcano Global Geopark region. With hiking and nature trails, water sports and just 25 minutes from Rusutsu Ski Resort (ルスツ), Lakehouse at Toyako is one of the most exclusive lakeside retreats in Hokkaido.

Turn left at 錦町3 intersection onto route 16 towards Lake Shikotsu –Dori. Then, turn left on to highway 453. Turn right onto highway 276. Continue to follow highway 276 to Kimobetsu (About 53.5km) turn left onto highway 230. Turn left onto route 66 and travels approx. 6.5 km then turn left at traffic lights onto route 132. On route 132, travel approx. 2km you will pass the Toyamizube No Sato Takarada Camping Ground sign, 100 meters after, just before reaching the bridge turn right and keep driving along the river (500 meters) until you reach Lakehouse at Toyako. You cannot see the fireworks from the Lakehouse. If you would like to see the fireworks, we recommend renting a car to drive to Onsen Town.

Onsen Town is a 25 minute drive from the Lakehouse.

Guests accept responsibility for loss and damage to the accommodation, fittings, furniture, keys and other items during occupation. There will be a fee of up to 10,000JPY for any lost or damaged keys. If this has not been paid for, it will be charged to your credit card.

The office is open daily from 9.00am to 18.00pm.

Yes, it may be possible to arrange early check in, but we need to be notified of this in advance and must be confirmed by each party. Early check in is dependent on the check out time of previous customers and cleaning of the property ready for your arrival. Late check out is only possible on a request basis. Where a late check out has not been confirmed in writing and the accommodation is not vacated by 10.00am, a late check out fee of 10,000JPY for each hour (or part thereof) that the property is occupied after 10.00am will be issued.

Our check-in time is 3pm-7pm. If you would like to check in later than this, please contact us prior to your arrival.

Check out time is 10 am. We will normally be here to assist your check out. If we aren't present during the time of your check out, please kindly leave all your room keys on the front desk.

Yes, we can look after your luggage. If at check in your room is not ready yet or in case of early check out after .We will store your luggage free of charge on your check-in and check-out days.

The rooms don't have a microwave

All our bathrooms have a bathtub and shower. Most of our bathrooms have a rain shower.

No, you cannot smoke in the Lakehouse. If you wish to smoke, you can smoke outside at designated areas.

There is lots to do around the Lakehouse! You can rent bicycles, SUPs, canoes, kayaks and more from the Lakehouse to explorethe natural surroundings (see 'Activities'). Alternatively, there is also lots to see in Toyamachi town! We have lists of recommended restaurants and shops under the 'Discover Toyako' menu!

Breakfast is not included with a room booking. We offer breakfast at an additional JYP 1,100 per head. Please see our catering menu for Japanese or Western breakfast options.

There is free parking on the Lakehouse premisis.

No pets are allowed inside the Lakehouse, unless they are called Mika or Jacob and they are adorable shibas/ daschunds.
